One of the most popular applications on Facebook is the application Photos, where users can download albums and photos. Facebook allows users to download an unlimited number of photos, compared to other image hosting such as Flickr and Photobucket, which apply limits the number of photos that the user is authorized to transfer. However, users are limited to 60 photos per album. Settings can be set for individual albums, which limits the user groups who may see an album. For example, the privacy of an album can be set so that only friends of the user can see the album, while the privacy of another album can be resolved so that all users of Facebook can see it. Another feature of the Photos applications is the ability to “tag” or label users in a photograph. For example, if a photo contains a friend of the user and the user can tag friend in the photo. This sends a notification to the friend they were marked, and provides a link to see the picture.
